五種散亂
(五種散亂, 五种散乱)
The five kinds of mental aberration:
(1) the five senses themselves not functioning properly;
(2) external distraction, or inability to concentrate the attention;
(3) internal distraction, or mental confusion;
(4) distraction caused by ideas of mean and mine, personality, possession, etc.
(5) confusion of thought produced by Hīnayāna ideas.

眾生的心有五種的散亂, 即一、 自然散亂, 謂眾生的五識不守自性, 隨逐外境, 念念變遷; 二、 外散亂, 是意根馳動, 隨逐外塵, 起種種的分別; 三、 內散亂, 是心生高下, 念念遷流而不定; 四、 麤重散亂, 是計我我所麤重之法, 而不得解脫; 五、 思惟散亂, 是棄捨大乘, 憶念小乘而不得寂靜。
